I am a social and behavioral scientist who examines the social determinants of childhood obesity and cardiovascular disease risk factors among under-served populations in the United States. More specifically, my research examines the roles of neighborhood factors and social stressors that potentially contribute to disparities in obesity and cardiovascular disease factors and the development of interventions to address these social determinants.
