Biography

Debbie Weinstein received her BA from Brown in 1993 and her PhD in History of Science from Harvard in 2002. She returned to Brown as the Nancy L. Buc postdoctoral fellow at the Pembroke Center, then held a Mellon postdoctoral fellowship in the history of medicine at Brandeis and taught in the History and Literature Program at Harvard. She is the author of The Pathological Family: Postwar America and the Rise of Family Therapy (Cornell University Press, 2013). In her position as Assistant Director of the Pembroke Center, she directs and teaches in the Gender and Sexuality Studies Program.
