Important Note : Brown University is already registered as an institution. No additional registration by Principal Investigators (PIs) or Department Administrators (DAs) is necessary to use Grants.Gov. However, registration is still required for NIH Commons and NSF Fastlane. Step 1: Start your search for Federal government-wide grant opportunities and register to receive automatic email notifications of new grant opportunities as they are posted. Step 2: Download PureEdge Viewer. Pure Edge is a small, free program which allows you to access, complete, and submit all application packages electronically and securely through Grants.gov. Step 3: Find a grants opportunity and download the application packet to your hard drive. (note to Mac users: please follow instructions from the link on the right side menu option. In following those directions you must also download the Citrix Client to your desktop) Step 4: Contact your department's pre-award contact at OSP or BMRA, as applicable, give them the CFDA number and title of the solicitation, and let them know this proposal must be submitted through Grants.gov.Please make sure to include the "Funding Opportunity Number" indicated in the Grants.gov application. Electronic (uploaded to OSP web site) and hard copies of the proposal must be submitted to OSP or BRMA as applicable along with the PSAF.
