Dr. Papandonatos joined the Department of Community Health at Brown University in 1998, where he now holds an academic appointment as Associate Professor of Biostatistics. He is also affiliated with the Centers for Behavioral & Preventive Medicine at the Miriam Hospital. Since his move to Brown, he has developed extensive collaborations in Behavioral Medicine, in the areas of smoking cessation, physical activity, and weight loss interventions. He has served as project statistician and co-Investigator on 32 funded R01 and U01 projects, and as statistical mentor on 9 career awards in these areas. Additionally, he served as Principal Investigator of the Statistics & Data Management Core of the TTURC-SPORE P50 grant on "Nicotine Dependence: Phenotype, Endophenotype & Contexts" from 1999-2010.

Dr. Papandonatos holds a B.Sc. in Mathematics, Operational Research & Economics from the University of Essex, UK, a Diploma in Statistics from the University of Kent, UK, and a Ph.D. in Statistics from the University of Minnesota (Twin Cities), USA.
