The Director of Research Initiatives facilitates and advances innovation across campus by (1.) working with academic units, centers, programs and institutes to develop new interdisciplinary partnerships, (2.) providing local, national and global networking events to convene innovators and investors, and (3.) connecting researchers to industry experts to explore ideas, collaborations and new models of funding.

As a writer and strategist, Kathleen spent the past four years as Associate Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations at Brown University, Dartmouth Medical School and Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center. She connected junior and senior faculty-researchers with corporate and foundation experts to explore exciting funding opportunities and strategic alliances. Prior to this, Kathleen spent most of her career traveling around the country in start-up roles and start-up companies. In her career, she has built a marketing toolset that includes brand strategy and implementation, business development, online and offline marketing, and private and public fundraising in a diverse array of environments including health, education, urban planning, cooking, and publications.
