Office of the Vice President for Research

"There has never been a more exciting
time for research at Brown..."

Clyde L. Briant
Vice President for Research

The mission of the Office of the Vice President for Research (OVPR) is to enhance research activity in all areas of the University - humanities, social sciences, biological sciences, and physical sciences. This enhancement goes hand in hand with the Plan for Academic Enrichment currently underway at Brown. At this stage in its history, the University is opening up entire new areas of research and redefining more traditional ones. Brown's research network features advanced academic institutes, centers, and facilities that make its world-renowned research possible. This research infrastructure encourages discovery and innovation through a continually expanding network of state of the art equipment and resources.
