Robyn Creswell's research focuses on modernist poetry and poetics in Arabic, French, and English. He received his PhD in Comparative Literature from NYU in 2011. He is the translator of Abdelfattah Kilito's The Clash of Images (New Directions, 2010), and Sonallah Ibrahim's That Smell and Notes from Prison (New Directions, 2013). He is poetry editor of The Paris Review and a former fellow of the Cullman Center at the New York Public Library.

In addition to his scholarly publications, Creswell has written essays and reviews for Harper's Magazine, The New York Times Book Review, The Nation, and N+1.
