Dr. Aloia's current research interests focus on the consequences of sleep disorders and methods to improve adherence to treatment. He is currently involved in several projects examining the medical and psychological consequences of sleep apnea and non-restorative sleep, including work with the Cardiovascular Health Study and the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey datasets. Outcomes of interest include cardiovascular disease, cognitive dysfunction, and cerebrovascular disease and risk factors.
