KATHERINE DUNLOP

Biography

Katherine Dunlop received an A.B. in philosophy from Harvard in 1998. Since her first exposure to philosophy, she has maintained an interest in the epistemology of mathematics. She received her Ph.D. from UCLA in 2005. The title of her dissertation was "Kant on the Reality of Mathematical Definitions". Katherine held a Stanford Humanities Fellowship from 2005 to 2007. Her main area of research is early modern philosophy, primarily theories of knowledge. She is especially interested in accounts of scientific and mathematical knowledge, and of perception. She also works on the influence of Kant and earlier thinkers on 20th-century analytic philosophy.
