The primary goal of this lab is to elucidate the cellular and molecular mechanisms that underlie the formation, maintenance and modification of synapses in the central nervous system.

A member of Brown faculty since 2002, Anna Dunaevsky is a graduate of Hebrew University in biology; she earned a Master's degree in neurobiology from Hadassah Medical School at 1992 and a Ph.D. in neuroscience and behavior from University of Massachusetts n 1997. For her research Dr. Dunaevsky uses advanced optical imaging and molecular approaches to study the development of synaptic structures a field she has contributed to extensively.
