Spherics Inc. has recently received substantial venture capital funding to commercialize a portfolio of patents exclusively licensed from Brown University for oral and parenternal drug and diagnostic agent delivery using three technology platforms:

• Enhancement of approved delivery systems by adding bioadhesive properties to widely-used polymers
• Phase inversion nanoencapsulation for proteins, genetic material, and vaccines; and
• A multiwall controlled-release improvement for hydrogel delivery systems.

Spherics is commercializing differentiated products through their drug delivery technology and reformulating pharmaceuticals for life-cycle management and product line extension.
